THANK YOU

Well, as you may well know by now, we did not reach our financial goal through Kickstarter to produce, publish, and promote Renfield and Igor Meet Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde. We do want to thank those who were generous to support our efforts…

Both Gavin and I are grateful for the support that we did receive. A few things regarding Kickstarter were learned during our first attempt… 1) A shorter Kickstarter campaign time-wise in order for quicker results isn’t necessarily a good idea. 2) The holiday season may not be the best time to run a Kickstarter campaign.

Although we did not reach our Kickstarter goal, Renfield and Igor Meet Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde isn’t dead yet. We will regroup and plan a new strategy and return later in the year. We will probably shoot a more enticing video, adjust and rearrange our incentives for backers, as well as work up a few more incentives as well. We hope that everyone who joined us the first time around will do so when we return. Again, thank you to everyone who supported and contributed. We will see you soon…

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RENFIELD AND IGOR NEED YOUR HELP
The Classic Horror Sidekicks Set Out On Their Own

Costa Mesa, CA (December 09, 2011)—RENFIELD AND IGOR MEET DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE is the first of a planned five-part horror/humor comic book series featuring the adventures of the two monstrous misfits before their association with their respective horror icons. Created by writer Dan Taylor and artist Gavin Spence, RENFIELD AND IGOR MEET DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE begins a “buddy story” similar to that of Laurel & Hardy and Abbott & Costello, told in the tradition of the great “road pictures” of Crosby & Hope.

RENFIELD AND IGOR MEET DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE is currently seeking backers via Kickstarter – http://kck.st/tkJ99i – to fund the production, publication, and promotion of the first issue of the RENFIELD AND IGOR comic book mini-series. The Kickstarter project pledge campaign scheduled deadline is Monday, December 19 at 11:59AM PST—so, time is of the essence.

Renfield and Igor are two down-on-their-luck and unemployed ne’er do wells that live in Victorian London. They share a flat and both have a crush on “working girl” Ivy Pearson. They are in danger of losing their home for not paying rent when Renfield is approached by Dr. Jekyll to “run errands” to acquire ingredients for a new formula. Igor is approached by Mr. Hyde to run the same errands. Not being bright enough to figure that Jekyll and Hyde are one in the same, Renfield and Igor plot to go ahead and do the job for both men in order to be paid twice—and, their adventure begins.

RENFIELD AND IGOR MEET DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE will be a 32-page full color comic book written by Dan Taylor (Hero Happy Hour, Pirat Tales: Legend of the Cat O’ Nine Tails) with art by Glasgow-based illustrator Gavin Spence. The first issue of the series begins the journey of Renfield and Igor as they encounter iconic characters of the classic horror genre. Their misadventures continue with…

  • RENFIELD AND IGOR MEET THE WEREWOLF
  • RENFIELD AND IGOR MEET THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA
  • RENFIELD AND IGOR MEET THE MUMMY
  • RENFIELD AND IGOR MEET THE INVISIBLE MAN

A wide range of incentive rewards have been set up to reward backers of the RENFIELD AND IGOR MEET DR. JEKYLL & MR. HYDE Kickstarter project including copies of the final produced comic book, prints of the cover images of all five RENFIELD AND IGOR MEET… comic book titles, t-shirts, and original one-of-a-kind artwork featuring the characters. Any funds raised through the Kicsktarter campaign above and beyond the initial goal will go toward the funding of the production and publication of the additional issues.

Kickstarter – http://kickstarter.com – is a crowd-funding website that offers an all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded in order for the campaign to succeed and features a diverse array of artistic projects ranging from design to film to music to much more—including comics.
